Katie (Mary) Thompson


   Katie has a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, and is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern. Katie has 7 years clinical experience plus 20 years ministerial experiences. She has worked with people experiencing brokenness and hopelessness, due to loss, trauma, abandonment, addiction, anxiety, depression, and anger issues. In the midst of pain and suffering, Katie helps people renew their joy, increase their faith, discover peace in difficult seasons, and find hope in otherwise hopeless situations. 


   Katie is a integrative Mental Health Counselor and a Christian Counselor. Her methodology is Person-Centered Therapy, which emphasizes an empathic, non-judgmental, and non-directive approach that is focused on providing support, acceptance, and encouragement. A few of the methods she integrates are Biblical truths, Spirituality, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Relationship Counseling, and Cognitive Analytical Therapy. Katie has successfully created and implemented process and didactic groups for grief, hope, anxiety, spirituality, family roles, depression, anger management, and addiction.  


   Katie received a M.A. in Mental Health Counseling and a B.S. in Psychology: Christian Counseling from Liberty University. She attended Vineyard Institute earning certification in Biblical Theological Studies in 2000.
